Here is your 21st Amendment, 75 years old
Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use there in of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.
Section 3. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by conventions in the several States, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the States by the Congress.
Apparently 75 yrs ago they realized we would get the current incoming administration and thus hard liquor would be a necessity for 4 years
No, no…sorry, Mel. That was for the most recent administration, as in the Dub-ya Years! I can’t tell you how incredibly much people drank over the last eight years! I can tell you it definately contributed to my consumption…and to just about everyone I know, and I know a lot of people…
Our livers are all about to breath a sigh of relief…
Oh, btw…my favorite bar/cafe in Seattle, The Mecca, has the distiction of being the first bar in the city to legally pour a beer after the 18th admendment was repealed. So, hold your beer high as you toast the 21st amendment!
That’s right Mel…the beverage of choice for the incoming administration is Koolaid and we are all encourged to drink deep and often!
