Obama makes a Gaffe-erson…I mean Jefferson…I mean Sanford and Son Reference
October 29, 2008In an attempt to knock McCain on Social Security, The One pretended to be in pain and then grabbed his heart as if he was have having a heart attack; a la Fred Sanford on Sanford and Son. Obama then said “I’m coming Weezie”. One problem, Weezie was from the Jeffersons…not Sanford and Son. Fred used to say “Elizabeth, I coming baby”…for his dead wife, as if he were talking to her in heaven.
The famous line Obama mixed up was from Redd Foxx’s Fred Sanford character, who faked having a heart attack to draw sympathy from his son, Lamont:
“Oh, this is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth?! I’m coming to join you, honey!”

Nice try Obama. I guess the only thing “Movin’ On Up” will be McCain’s poll numbers. You might want to stick to your prepared speech on your teleprompter.
